<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode which has an excellent safety that can steadily clear the 150°C heating test as defined in UL 1642 Regulation and which is capable of forming an electrochemical element having little generation of hydrofluoric acid even in the case of calcination at disposal, and an electrochemical element using this electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode comprises a conductive active material contained layer (mixture layer) 18 which contains as a constituent material an electrode active material and a binder composed of a biodegradable polymer and a conductive current collector 16, and the biodegradable polymer is at least one kind of polymer selected from a group made of polybutylene succinate, polybutylene succinate-adipate, polyethylene succinate, polylactic acid, poly-ε-caprolactone, poly-3-hydroxybutylate, poly(3-hydroxybutylate-3-hydroxyvalerate), and polyglycolic acid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
