<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which outputs data even on a confidential document in a form incapable of being read by others, without the storage of the data therein, and which makes the document readable or copiable as needed. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus 1 receives printing instructions including printing content information from the outside, so as to form an image on a printing medium by an image forming engine in accordance with the received printing instructions. The apparatus 1 comprises a recording content determination means for determining contents to be recorded on the printing medium in accordance with the received printing instructions, and a confidential discrimination means for determining whether or not the received printing instructions include a password.
