PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module capable of more reducing a light quantity leaking outside in the case of removing an optical fiber while entering a necessary light quantity for communication into the optical fiber erven with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The optical module comprises an inside wall 21 for specifying a spatial volume 20A to insert an optical fiber 60 therein, and a sleeve 20 for holding the optical fiber 60 so as to lead a luminous flux to the entering end face 60T, and since the sleeve 20 is made up so that the inside wall 21 is irradiated with at least a part of the luminous flux 70 when the optical fiber 60 is removed, the luminous flux 70 is partly absorbed in or scattered by reflection by the inside wall, or absorbed therein and scattered by reflection.
