PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information reproducing device provided with a shockproof function which is more reliable than that of the conventional device by preventing a shockproof memory from underflowing. SOLUTION: The information reproducing device calculates a likelihood difference between a maximum likelihood state transition column at each time when decoding the maximum likelihood and the 2nd maximum likelihood state transition column, and performs retry control of data storage operation to the shockproof memory on the basis of the likelihood difference.
