PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystallized glass having a broad luminescence emission spectrum in a wide wavelength zone and high emission efficiency and a gain medium using the glass. SOLUTION: The crystallized glass contains Er, is formed by the deposition of garnet crystal, has the broad emission spectrum in the wide wavelength zone and high emission efficiency and is used as the gain medium in various wavelength zones which is used for an optical amplifier and a laser transmitter.
