PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely transmit the history information of an image forming device to a controller which can be activated independently of the image forming device and controls the operation of the image forming device. SOLUTION: The image forming device 12 and a computer 14 are connected through a communication controller 18, and the communication controller 18 monitors the state of the image forming device 12, acquires a log of the image forming device 12 and transmits the acquired log to the computer 14. At this time, while the communication controller 18 cannot communicate with the computer 14 because the computer 14 is not started and because a cable connecting the communication controller 18 and the computer 18 is disconnected at some place, the communication controller 18 temporarily stores the log acquired in a RAM of an internal memory and transmits the stored log to the computer 14 when communication with the computer 14 is established.
