PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve mounting density of a fluorescent display tube on a plate glass and its downsizing. SOLUTION: An exhaust hole 80 is provided at the plate glass 6 of an envelope 40 housing a cathode 1, a grid 2 and an anode 3. After vacuum pumping the inside of the envelope 40 with the exhaust hole 80 as an exhaust channel, the exit of the exhaust hole 80 is choked with a tap body 9. An entrance of the exhaust hole 80 is positioned near a spacer glass 7 of the envelope 40 as against the exit of the exhaust hole 80. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
