<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing ring for enabling the reduction of the friction torque in a sliding section without impairing the sealing performance even a mating sliding member is made of non-ferrous metal materials such as aluminum alloy to contribute to the improvement in fuel consumption of a vehicle, and to provide a sealing device using the sealing ring. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing ring 9 is formed annularly with a rectangular cross section, installed in a shaft member 30 rotatably supported in a housing 20 and sliding with the housing 20 in working fluid containing a specified ash-free friction regulator.
