<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer, printing computer system and printing method capable of automatically starting exclusive application software according to a switching operation of tray. <P>SOLUTION: The printing computer system 11 comprises the printer 10 having a switching means to be switched according to the kind of printing object in order to enable the feed according to the kind of printing object and a computer 110 connected to the printer 10. The printer 10 comprises state detection means 77 and 78 for detecting the switching of the switching means 70 and a transmitting means 100 for transmitting a detection signal based on the detection of switching in the state detecting means 77 and 78 to the computer 110 side. The computer 110 comprises a receiving means for receiving the detection signal transmitted by the transmitting means 100, and a software starting means for starting the dedicated application software for forming print data to be printed to a printing surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
