<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information transaction system capable of transacting information, which are dead-stored heretofore since there is no effective information transaction means, smoothly through a communication network with a fair profit between a person requesting the information and a person requested to provide the information. <P>SOLUTION: A server stores independent information received from a user terminal 2A and independent information received from a user terminal 2B. Upon receiving an exchange request for requesting an exchange of unit information edited from the independent information by the user terminal 2A for unit information edited from the independent information by the user terminal 2B from the user terminal 2A, the server inquires of the user terminal 2B about the intention of the exchange (S702).
