<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate which has small variance of the orientation of a polarizing film and decreased irregularity and which is suitable for a liquid crystal display, and to provide a liquid crystal display having no display irregularity. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing film shows ≥400 nm and ≤1,200 nm in-plane retardation of the polarizing film measured at 1,000 nm wavelength and ±50 nm variance of the in-plane retardation.
