PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data generating apparatus capable of conducting a work of editing image processing control information or photographing conditions. SOLUTION: A CPU 161 selects image data selected by a user from a memory card MC, and displays image processing control information correlated to the selected image data on a liquid crystal display 19. Upon completion of editing the image processing control information, the CPU 161 determines whether or not the image processing control information has been updated, and if determining that the image processing control information has been updated, the CPU 161 updates image processing control information GI described in the image data.
