OPTICAL FIBER CABLE CONNECTION AUXILIARY DEVICE AND OPTICAL FIBER CABLE CONNECTING METHOD USING THE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable connection auxiliary device by which a drop optical fiber cable is simply and properly connected even though the cable is discontinued at any place and to provide an optical fiber cable connecting method using the optical fiber cable connection auxiliary device.

SOLUTION: An optical fiber 1 is wound in a groove section 23 which is provided on the outer peripheral surface of a main body section 2 in a spiral manner. The tip section of the optical fiber 1 is taken out from a tip section side of the main body section 2. An optical fiber 11 of a drop optical fiber cable 12 is put through a hole 3b of a cover section 3. Then, the tip section of the optical fiber 11 of the drop optical fiber cable 12 which is put through is fusion spliced or is connected by mechanical splice connection to the tip section of the optical fiber 1 that is taken out and the residual portion of the optical fiber 1 being taken out is pushed into the cavity section of the main body section 2 to store a connection section 15 in the cavity section of the main body section 2 and the cover section 3 is firmly mounted onto the main body section 2.
