PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible chasing play back of data more than a storage capacity assigned to a hard disk. SOLUTION: When there is a space in assigned storage capacity, input data are recorded in an HDD 21 and when there is no space and there are chasing play back data in recorded data, such data are erased to record the input data or when there is no space and chasing play back as long as the storage capacity from the head of data is completed, the oldest data in the recorded data are erased to record the input data. When it is not under chasing play back from a DVD 22, the input data are recorded in the DVD 22 and when there is an unrecorded data portion in the DVD 22 after the end of data inputting, such a portion is copied from the HDD 21. When there are data to apply chasing play back thereto in the HDD 21, chasing play back is performed from the HDD 21 but when there are not such data, chasing play back is performed from the DVD 22.
