PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spring which is used to put back, in a container which contains various medicaments, such as detergents, germicides, disinfectants, deodorants, fungus removers and antiseptics, and discharges a fixed quantity of liquid when a piston with a nozzle is pushed downwards, the nozzle to its original position and is capable of cost reduction while securing required corrosion resistance and strength. SOLUTION: The corrosion-resistant spring steel for medicament container has an alloy composition consisting of, by weight, 0.06 to 0.12% C,≤0.70% Si,≤2.0% Mn,≤0.75% Cu, 10.0 to 10.5% Ni or 8.0 to 8.5% Ni, 17.0 to 19.0% Cr, 0.5 to 1.5% Mo, 0.18 to 0.28% N,≤0.045% P,≤0.005% S and the balance substantially Fe. Further, in this corrosion-resistant spring steel, the value of a pitting index P.I. defined by P.I.=[Cr content(wt.%)]+3.3[Mo content(wt.%)]+16[N content(wt.%)] ranges from 23.0 to 27.5.
