摘要 PURPOSE: An automatic radio frequency selection apparatus using a navigation device and a control method thereof are provided to select automatically a radio broadcasting channel by measuring an intensity of airwaves and analyzing broadcasting channel information. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting receiver(10) is used for receiving airwaves including local codes. A digital code analysis decoder(20) is used for analyzing the local codes of the airwaves to provide local channel information. A GPS receiver(30) is used for detecting a present location of a car. A sensitivity checking unit(40) checks the intensity of the airwaves. A control unit(50) compares and judges the local channel information, the location information, and the airwave intensity information. A channel selector(60) is used for selecting a channel having excellent reception performance. A broadcasting output unit(70) broadcasts the selected channel.
