PURPOSE: An apparatus of driving a plasma display panel and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent a deterioration of uniformity in the panel luminance by changing gray scales of data corresponding to process margins. CONSTITUTION: A panel(39) includes a plurality of sections. A luminance controller(34) receives data from the outside and changes gray scales of data supplied to the sections of the panel. A subfield mapping unit(35) maps the output data of the luminance controller to subfield patterns. The luminance controller includes the luminance information of the sections extracted from a process for testing the panel. The luminance controller changes the gray scales of the data corresponding to the luminance information.
