<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic shaper immune to an internal error by matching a flow of an output cell read from a cell memory with an input cell. SOLUTION: An arithmetic section 12 calculates the output time of reading a cell from a cell memory 11 based on a transfer condition specific to each allocated channel. Furthermore, a memory control section 13 controls write to the cell memory 11 and read at the output time. When a cell flow state monitor means 14 detects whether or not a flow of an output cell read from the cell memory 11 and an input cell flow are matched. When it is detected that the cell flows are not matched, an alarm means 15 starts the restoration. In this case, a serial number is used in the inside of the traffic shaper 5 to manage the cell sequence to monitor the operation of the shaping function and when inversion takes place in the cell sequence, a comparator 37 provides the output of an S/N error.</p> |
