<p>PURPOSE: Provided is hydrophilic polyurethane foam for wastewater treatment, which exhibits good affinity for microorganism attachment, so it is suitable for use as fluidizing media in biological wastewater treatment. CONSTITUTION: In a porous polyurethane foam which is prepared by reacting polyol, diisocyanate and other additives by blowing operation, it is characterized in that polydimethyl siloxane (expressed as formula I and/or II) that is modified by polyalkylene oxide containing polyethylene oxide is added in the amount of 0.2 to 2.0 weight parts based on the 100 weight parts of polyol, wherein the molecular weight of the modified polydimethyl siloxane is 500 to 5,000 and polyethylene oxide is contained in the polydimethyl siloxane in the amount of 25 to 75 wt.%. In the formula I and/or II, PE1 is -CH2CH2CH2O(EO)m(PO)nR, where PE2 is -(EO)m(PO)nR', Me is methyl, EO is ethylene oxide, PO is propylene oxide, R is hydrogen or alkyl, R' is alkyl, m is an integer of 5 to 100, n is an integer of 0 to 100, p is an integer of 3 to 50, q is an integer of 3 to 5, x is an integer of 1 to 50, and y is an integer of 1 to 5.</p> |
