1319519 Cracking CONTINENTAL OIL CO 13 Nov 1970 [6 Jan 1970] 54037/70 Addition to 1244389 Heading C5E Hydrocarbon feedstocks are cracked by being brought into contact with catalyst particles in a reactor, separating conversion products, fluidizing the separated catalyst in a separate regenerator with air from a compressor operating at or near maximum capacity, separating combustion gas products and recycling regenerated catalyst; the coke-deposition rate in the reactor being controlled in response to variations in the air supply from the compressor, said control being made by varying the temperature and catalyst : feedstock ratio in response to the temperature at the outlet of the regenerator, the regenerator catalyst bed temperature being held constant by increasing or decreasing the recycle feed rate as required by changes in the temperature of the regenerator catalyst bed. |
