PURPOSE: A device and a method for booting an OS(Operating System) in a high speed using a non-volatile memory are provided to efficiently shorten time for booting a system by storing OS data to the memory, and reading the OS data from the memory and uploading the OS data to a RAM when system booting operation is performed. CONSTITUTION: A hard disk(14) stores the OS data and data of various kinds of programs. The second memory(16) separated from the hard disk stores the OS data. The first memory(13) such as the RAM executes the OS(130) by uploading the OS data read from the memory. The second memory is the non-volatile memory, such as a flash memory, storing the updated OS data after the system is terminated.
