ELECTRIC DUST COLLECTING DEVICE CAPABLE OF IRRADIATING SOUND WAVE ONTO CORONA DISCHARGING REGION

PURPOSE: An electric dust collecting device is provided to increase dust collecting efficiency by irradiating sound wave onto a corona discharging region and thus enlarging an ion generating region. CONSTITUTION: The electric dust collector includes a charging section and a dust collecting section(2). The charging section has a discharging electrode(6), a counter electrode(7) and a sound wave generating members for irradiating a discharging space containing at least a discharging electrode section with a sound wave. By irradiating the sound wave, the discharging region of corona discharging is enlarged and dust particles passing therethrough are coagulated and dust collecting efficiency at a dust collecting filter(8) provided in the dust collecting section is increased.
