PURPOSE: A method for terminating a short message by termination routing information is provided to store termination routing information about an MSC/VLR(Mobile Switching Center/Visitor Location Register) in an SMC(Short Message service Center) and transmit a short message to the MSC/VLR through the retrieval of stored termination routing information. CONSTITUTION: An HLR(Home Location Register) updates location information of an MS(Mobile Station), and reports termination routing information about the MS to an SMC(S41). The SMC receives termination routing information, and stores received termination routing information. If a short message is received in the MS, an MSC/VLR transmits the short message to the MS by stored termination routing information(S43-S46).
