TOUCH SCREEN SYSTEM HAVING ACTIVE AREA SETTING FUNCTION TO REDUCE INPUT ERROR AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A touch screen system having an active area setting function to reduce an input error and a controlling method thereof are provided to reduce the input error by setting a part of a touch panel as an active area and responding/processing touch input within the active area. CONSTITUTION: A display part(112) displays at least one active window. A touch panel(114) outputs a detection signal by responding to the touch input on the display part. A coordinate calculator(130) calculates coordinates of a position matched with the touch input based on the detection signal output from the touch panel. A coordinates storage(140) stores coordinates information representing the active area for the active window. A judger(150) judges that the calculated coordinates are present within the active area. A controller(180) blocks response matched with the touch input in case that the calculated coordinates are out of the active area based on a judging result.
