1319562 Detoxicating vegetable seeds INSTITUT NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE AGRONOMIQUE 19 April 1971 [10 Feb 1970] 24410/71 Headings A2E and A2Q [Also in Divisions C3 and C6] A process for treating vegetable seed cakes to provide detoxicated feed proteins of improved value comprises submitting said cakes derived for example from colza, rape, groundnut, sunflower, soya, sesame, castor oil, cotton, vinia sinensis, or broad bean (Faba vul garis) under conditions of maceration, to the action of the yeast Geotrichum candidum. Treatment of the maceration so produced with 20% w/v of ammonium sulphate precipitates a protein designated protein alpha. Addition to the filtrate of a further 20% w/v of ammonium sulphate results in a further precipitation of a protein, designated protein beta. |
