APPARATUS FOR ADDING NEW ROAD DATA TO MAP DATABASE BY USING INPUT UNIT AND GPS TRANSCEIVER AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An apparatus for adding new road data using a GPS and a controlling method thereof are provided to add new road data to a map database by modifying the data of map database according to the present location. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(10) performs an input switching operation for new map data. A CPU(20) is applied to a present location signal of a GPS transceiver(30)and is used for comparing a map database(40) of a vehicle at the present location with a new map data according to a new map data input signal of the input unit. The map database is used for receiving and storing the new map data from the CPU. A display unit(50) is used for displaying the map data on a screen.
