<p>High performance filter media (30) and manufacturing methodology provides nanofibres (32) of diameter less than 1 žm incorporated and processed into internal structure of a filter medium (34) dominantly composed of coarse fibres (36) of diameter greater than 1 žm, to change the internal 10 media structure. The nanofibres and coarse fibres may be of different materials, while the ratio of coarse fibre diameter to nanofibre diameter is between 10 and 5,000. The nanofibre diameter may be between 500 nm and 50nm, with the nanofibres comprising less than 1% by weight of the weight of the filter media.</p> |
