Optical layer system with antireflection properties

The system includes a transparent flat substrate with two parallel surfaces. A layer stack is formed on at least one of these surfaces, and comprises a first layer with a refractive index in the range 1.20 to 1.37, and a second smooth layer with a refractive index of 1.40 to 1.48. Independent claims are included for a method of manufacturing an optical layer system, and for an antireflection glass or plastics.
