PURPOSE: A cylinder head structure of an internal combustion engine is provided to cool effectively around a valve by circulating the lubricating oil from a top plate toward at least one of intake and exhaust tappet holes. CONSTITUTION: A cylinder head structure of an internal combustion engine is composed of an intake tappet guide forming an intake tappet hole(4) for guiding a tappet of an intake valve driven by an intake cam shaft; an exhaust tappet guide having an exhaust tappet hole(5) for guiding a tappet of an exhaust valve driven by an exhaust cam shaft; a top plate(13) for connecting the intake tappet guide with the exhaust tappet guide; a side plate(14) set up continuously at both sides of the top plate; and an upper end connection unit of at least one of the intake and exhaust tappet holes formed on the upside of the top plate.
