发明名称 A process for the production of slabs from fibrous material
摘要
357,168. Moulding insulating slabs containing wood wool. PLETSCHER, E., 19, Grendel, Lucerne, Switzerland. April 14, 1930, No. 11711. Convention date, April 14, 1929. [Classes 70 and 87 (ii).] In a process for the production of insulating slabs from wood wool and air-hardening cementitious material a mass of wood wool, without previous impregnation with chemicals, is first moistened with water by dipping, then has just sufficient dry hydraulic cement and/or gypsum sprinkled or dusted on it to coat the wood wool with a thin film of the cementitious material, whereafter the mass is stirred and finally laid in a mould to harden under moderate pressure. Various kinds of hydraulic cement, such as Portland cement, Grenoble cement, &c., can be used; also the gypsum can have materials added to it, such as marble dust, to make it harder. When cement is used the mass must remain somewhat longer in the mould, since the cement hardens less quickly than the gypsum. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also processes in which fibrous material is dipped in a mixture of the coating substance with water, taken out, allowed to drain, and placed in the moulds, or the fibrous material may be mixed with the correct quantity of the coating substance and water and the draining dispensed with. The cement may have materials, such as water glass, added to it to make it bind more quickly. A moulding machine is also described in which moulds arrive successively over a press which closes them after filling and over a machine for ejecting the finished slabs. A turntable 4, mounted on an axle 2, carries a number, for example eight, rectangular moulds 6 in a frame 5. The covers 7 of the moulds are locked by bolts and the floors 8 rest on adjustable cross members 9. A press is situated under one mould and consists of a hand-wheel 21 which extends the elbow levers 15. After the mould is filled, the cover 7 is held by the bolts 33 and the mould is raised by the press until the cover is level with its upper edge. The ejecting machine is similar to the press but has two projections on the platform 11 which raise the floor 8 of the mould. In a modification shown in Fig. 4 (Cancelled), instead of being mounted rotatably, the moulds run from the press to the ejecting machine along rails 50 and return empty along rails 51. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
