The procedure, especially for continuous pouring of molten steel into a crystallizator (20), where it solidifies, uses a feeder (21) of a refractory material and differs once in operation, i.e. after a starting phase, by the presence of a primary meniscus (23) and a secondary meniscus (24). The primary meniscus is located upstream of the secondary one, which is closer to the point where the metal begins to solidify in the crystallizator. The coupling between the feeder and crystallizator is impermeable to gases, and the feeder is positioned so that part of its head is located inside the crystallizator, forming a cavity (25) with its inner wall. During the starting phase the feeder head is filled with molten metal so it rises inside the cavity and forms the secondary meniscus, with the first meniscus in the feeder head.
|
