MEMORY DEVICE HAVING BUFFER MEMORY TO PROTECT WRITING WITH WRITE-PROTECTING FLAG SIGNAL AND INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A memory device having a buffer memory to protect writing with a write-protecting flag signal and an information processing system including the same are provided to prevent important information stored in a write-protected region from being changed by mistake or virus, as a buffer memory region is set as the write-protected region and the writing for the region is prevented. CONSTITUTION: A buffer memory(2600) stores data to be stored or read from a flash memory(2900). A write-protecting controller(2200) generates the write-protecting flag signal representing that an inputted address is the address corresponding to the write-protected region of the buffer memory by receiving the address assigning a specified region of the buffer memory. A buffer controller(2500) inhibits writing operation for the buffer memory when the write-protecting flag signal is enabled, while controlling reading/writing operation for the flash memory and the buffer memory by responding to the write-protecting flag signal.
