PRODUCTION PROCESS OF PHENOL POLYMERS, USING BIO-CATALYSTS TO POLYMERIZE PHENOL POLYMERS

PURPOSE: Provided is a production process of phenol polymers using bio-catalysts which polymerizes phenol monomers by the function of redox enzymes in organic solvent so that it is possible to produce the phenol polymers in a milder condition than the preexisted methods. CONSTITUTION: The production process of the phenol polymers using the bio-catalysts is characterized by using 0.1-1.0wt% of the redox enzymes based on the weight of the phenol monomers in an alcohol organic solvent with oxidants added to polymerize vegetable phenol monomers, in which the redox enzyme is selected from polyphenol oxidase, peroxidase, laccase or so on and the oxidant is selected from hydroperoxide, t-butyl hydroperoxide, t-ethyl hydroperoxide or so on.
