PURPOSE: An apparatus for converting QVGA format image data to QCIF format image data is provided to minimize an amount of calculation required for converting QVGA format image data to QCIF format image data. CONSTITUTION: A YCbCr separating unit(100) separates QVGA format image data received from a photographic device into Y, Cb and Cr data. An image size converting unit(110) converts an image size of QVGA format image data to that of QCIF format image data usig a conversion scheme arranged for the separated Y, Cb and Cr data in advance. An RGB converting unit(120) converts the Y, Cb and Cr data provided from the image size converting unit to R, G and B data.
