PURPOSE: A data transmission method in power line communication is provided to allow a data receiving unit to receive accurate data although data collision occurs. CONSTITUTION: One transmission node monitors whether a power line is in a free state or in a busy state. If the power line is free, the transmission node transmits its data to the power line. The transmission node monitors whether there is collision by checking whether data received through a receiving unit thereof is identical to the data which has been transmitted by the transmission node itself. If symbols of the data which has been transmitted by the transmission node itself and symbols of data transmitted by a different transmission node are identical or the symbols of the data transmitted by the transmission node itself has priority over the symbols of the data transmitted by the different transmission node, the transmission node keeps transmitting its data. If data different from the data which has been transmitted by the transmission node itself is received, the transmission node determines that a collision has occurred, and because its data symbols has lower priority than the other data symbols, the transmission node stops data transmission. When the transmission node detects that data transmission of the different transmission node is finished, it resumes data transmission.
