PURPOSE: Provided are an electrode material, an electrode structural body comprising the same, and a rechargeable lithium battery comprising the electrode structural body, which has high energy density, high storable electric capacity and longer charge-and-discharge cycle life. CONSTITUTION: The electrode material for a rechargeable lithium battery, comprises a fine powder of a silicone-based alloy which contains silicon elements as a principal component and contains Sn and a transition metal element in a total amount ranged from 1 to 50 wt%. Preferably, the fine powder has an average particle size(R) in a range of 0.1micrometer<=R<0.5micrometer. The electrode structural body for a rechargeable lithium battery comprises the electrode material. The rechargeable lithium battery in which oxidation-reduction reaction of lithium is used, comprises at least an anode, a cathode and an electrolyte, wherein the anode comprises the electrode structural body. |
