The self-mobile unit is for cleaning out channels, preferably for pelt animals, but is also suitable for cleaning gutters and similar. It comprises a scraping part which extends downwards into the channel to scrape together a medium for removal and a forward drive part which propels the scraper along the channel. This part comprises a forward drive wheel held in engagement with a downwardly turned surface of the channel. Good friction is created between the wheel and the lower side of the channel.
