PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing extract of Gastrodiae Rhizoma by roasting Gastrodiae Rhizoma and extracting it with hot water, thereby reducing the unpleasant taste and flavor of Gastrodiae Rhizoma. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing extract of Gastrodiae Rhizoma is characterized by the steps of: roasting Gastrodiae Rhizoma at 185-195 deg.C for 3-6 minutes; and extracting the roasted Gastrodiae Rhizoma with hot water at 95-105 deg.C for 15-25 minutes.
