PURPOSE: A mobile communication terminal having a volume control function is provided to enable a user to easily change transmission volume according to a request of the other person or due to bad communication circumstances by controlling a transmission volume gain as well as a reception volume gain at a transmitting side and to stabilize transmission volume by returning a transmission volume gain value to the original gain value when a call is terminated. CONSTITUTION: An operating unit(100) inputs operational signals of a user. A communication unit(200) transmits and receives voice signals. A codec(400) restores compressed voice signals received through the communication unit(200) to output the restored voice signals as receiving sounds to a speaker(600) and compresses transmission voice signals inputted through a microphone(700) to transmit the converted transmission voice signals to the communication unit(200). A control unit(300) includes a receiving volume control part(310) controlling receiving volume according to the operational signals of the operating unit(100), and a transmission volume control part(320) controlling transmission volume transmitted through the communication unit(200). The transmission volume control part(320) returns a transmission volume gain value set by the user to a basic value when a voice call is terminated.
