2-Oxo-3-hydroxy-25-ethylidene A-nor cholestene derivatives (I), are new. 2-Oxo-3-hydroxy-25-ethylidene A-nor cholestene derivatives of formula (I), their tautomers, metal complexes (when R = H), and blocked forms where keto is converted to ketal, thioketal, hemithioketal, oxime or (dicarboxyalkylene)ketal, optically active or racemic, are new. [Image] R : H, 1-7C alkyl, 3-7C cycloalkyl, 5-10C aryl, aryl(1-6C)alkyl or acyl, derived from an aliphatic carboxylic, cycloalkanoic or arylcarboxylic acid.
