The system has a control device (1) measuring its own acceleration along an axis and transmitting the measurements in the form of signals to a processing device (20). The processing device determines commands to be applied to an image display device (40) based on the measurements, where the commands have information of acceleration in a plane that is not parallel to the axis and information of activation of the commands. An independent claim is also included for a method of controlling an image display device.
