The bench has a test piece support in longitudinal bar (3) form carried by a frame (2). A sliding mass (6) applies impacting force on a test piece fixed to the bar by a fixation unit. Strain gauges (12), an optical strain gauge (14) and a fast video camera (20) measure the type of force supported by the piece at the time or after the impact. A computer (18) processes and analyzes data provided by the gauges (12, 14) and camera.
