PURPOSE: A state alarm device of a vehicle by using a navigation system and a method thereof are provided to detect the theft of the vehicle by measuring starting of the engine and discharge of the battery, and to cope with the emergency state by transmitting the character message to a driver's cell phone. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle state alarm device is composed of a door opening detecting sensor(10) installed in a door of a vehicle to output signals by detecting opening of the door, a key insertion detecting sensor(20) outputting the signals by detecting insertion of the key and starting of the engine, a control unit(50) deciding theft of the vehicle according to signals from the door opening detecting sensor and the key insertion detecting sensor and outputting the control signal, a transmitting unit(60) outputting the vehicle theft message signal according to the control signal from the control unit, and a power unit(70) turning on and off a navigation system corresponding to the control signal from the control unit. |
