Indole derivatives, process for preparation of the same and use thereof

Disclosed are indole compounds of formula (I), wherein: R1 is hydroxy, alkoxy, or NR8R9, R2 is H, alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl, halogen, amino, trihalomethyl, cyano, hydroxy, benzyl, or 4-methoxybenzyl, R3 is H, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, trohalomethyl, cyano, or hydroxy, R4 and R5 are independently H, alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl, halogen, nitro, amino, trihalomethyl, cyano, or hydroxy, and the remaining substituents are defined herein. The compounds are used in the manufacture of medicaments as DP receptor antagonists. Also disclosed is the intermediate compound 2-methylindole-4-acetic acid.
