A pharmaceutical composition comprises a selective alpha-2B-adrenorecptor antagonist selected from compounds A, B, C and E. The composition is useful for the treatment and prevention of diseases mediated by the alpha-2B-adrenoreceptor such as chronic heart disease i.e. acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina pectoris, Prinzmetal's variant form of angina pectoris, chronic angina pectoris and restenosis after coronary angioplasty, essential hypertension and vascular disease i.e. vasoconstriction or hypoxic brain damage subsequent to subarachonoid hemorrhage, migraine, Raynaud's disease, cold intolerance, pre-eclampsia, male erectile dysfunction and obesity.
