PURPOSE: A multi-communication system for implementing a portable IP(Internet Protocol) video phone and an IP set-top box combined to the portable IP video pone is provided to perform multimedia communication by transmitting A/V(Audio/Video) data through the video phone, and implementing real-time data communication between the IP phone and a base station through the USB(Universal Serial Bus). CONSTITUTION: A handset(300) processes a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) function and multimedia by performing the MPEG-4(Moving Picture Experts Group) encoding/decoding, and processes an A/V signal. The base station(500) transmits/receives the data with the handset or the IP network, displays the multimedia to a home A/V device by performing the MPEG-4 decoding, and performs a user interface by connecting to a keyboard and a mouse. The handset and the base station perform the real-time data communication through the USB or a wireless interface. The handset comprises a main processor and an OSD(On Screen Display)/graphic generator.
