PURPOSE: A projection system is provided to reduce the size of the system by shortening a transmitting distance of the projection system. CONSTITUTION: A projection system includes a laser light source, an image display element, a first transmitting lens system(410), a prism, a second transmitting lens system(411), and a screen. The laser light source generates red, green, and blue light. The image display element displays an image corresponding to the red, green, and blue light by using the red light, the green light, and the blue light. The prism synthesizes images of each transmitted color. The second transmitting lens system(411) enlarges and transmits the synthesized image. The first transmitting lens system(410) includes at least lens.
