Exposure/shooting film representation simulating method for e.g. cinema field, involves digitizing images captured on silver halide film and sensitometry reference, establishing initial sensitometry relation and new digital codes

The method involves digitizing images (12) captured on a silver halide film and using a sensitometry reference (14) recorded on the film to obtain initial digital codes for a set of image pixels and the reference. An initial sensitometry relation (26) linking codes to light exposure values of the film is established. New digital codes are established for multiple pixels so that the new and initial codes are associated to a same exposition value.
