Process for desulfuration of petrol by three stage process, removing thiophenes and mercaptans

Production of a petrol with a low sulfur content from an initial product containing olefins, thiophenes and mercaptans by a primary stage (a) of alkylation of thiophenes by olefins followed by (b) removal of mercaptans by addition of olefins, and finally (c) distillation of the effluent to obtain a light fraction depleted in thiophenes and mercaptans and a heavy fraction containing the major part of the sulfur compounds.
