The method involves sending a synchronization message containing a time measurement value (RM) of a master unit and a time index, by the master unit. Slave units form a difference between a time measurement values (RSM1, RSM2) and the value (RM), correct current time measurement values (RSM1, RSM2) and record a value (RM, RSM1, RSM2). The master unit inserts the value (RM) in the synchronization message. The time measurement values (RSM1, RSM2) are recorded in the slave units. The slave units record the value (RM, RSM1, RSM2) on receiving the time index.
